Internazionale Milano FC are reported by Calcimercato to have made Erik Lamela their top summer target, ahead of the next campaign.
Current coach of the team, Roberto Mancini is reported to be keen on swooping the player as he has been a fan for a while now. He is so desperate for the services of the rising star player that he is willing to offer Tottenham Hotspurs a pick of two players in exchange.
The Italian tactician wants more creativity and he is looking at making Lamela the one to provide it. There are reports from the Serie A club that the club’s sporting director Piero Ausilio has flown out to South America for talks with the player. Lamela, who is Argentine, is currently representing his country at the Copa America.
Lamela arrived at White Hart Lane in 2013 for just over £25m but Spurs are reported to be comfortable with offers in the range of £20m for the 24-year-old. He failed to make real impact in his first season but has found a regular shirt this past campaign. He started 28 games last season in the Premier League scoring five goals and assisting teammates on nine occasions.
It is believed that Marcelo Brozovic and defender Jeison Murillo will be offered to Spurs aside cash payment for the services of the player, according to Corriere dello Sport. Lamela still has two years on his current deal and the club would be looking at recouping their investment or something not afar off for the player. There are also concerns that the player would not want to sacrifice Champions League football with Spurs for the Europa League with Inter Milan. Inter are low on cash and would have to comply with Financial Fair Play rules, so there are still doubts that the deal will go through especially with the interest in Yaya Toure.
