INTER MILAN SET TO RETURN TO EUROPE

Inter Milan are in prime position for a top four finish under the guidance of former Manchester city manager, Roberto Mancini.

The Nerrazurri are currently a place behind champion’s league qualification with 58 points after 32 matches played. The team is currently six points behind a resurgent AS Roma under Luissiano Spalletti.

Mancini’s side are currently seven points clear of city rivals AC Milan and in fine form going into the final six games of the season after winning four of their last five games. The veteran manager is also optimistic of a champion’s league place after the 1-1 draw with rival, AS Roma.

Mancini said: “We are disappointed because we couldn’t count on three attackers, but they are still many games and many points left. If we get level on points with Roma we can get into the champions league because we are ahead in the head to heads.”

He also told reporters: “we are not giving up but we will see what happens at the end of the season.”

Inter Milan still have difficult fixtures against second place Napoli at home and another tricky away tie against Lazio in Rome. The Nerrazurri have not played in the Champion’s league since the 2011/2012 season and their fans can’t wait another season to see Champion’s league football return to their city.

Even star striker Maurio Icardi cannot wait to play at the zenith of European football for the first time in his career. The 23 years old Argentine striker and former Sampdoria hitman says he wants to take one game at a time.

“I don’t want to speak about the Champions league. All I can say is we have to win every game and then we will see where we end up,” Icardi told reporters.
