Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku has revealed that he is currently having the best year of his professional football career and says he wishes this year is a fresh beginning of many more good things to come. The Belgium international striker is now a title champion in Italy after his club Inter Milan were confirmed to have clinched the Italian Serie A title for the first time in a long while.
From there on, he moved to Goodison Park, signing for Everton under Roberto Martinez and it was another success story for the big Belgian. But he came at a crossroad in his career when his former club Chelsea and Manchester United were battling to snap him away from the Merseyside outfit. He eventually moved to Old Trafford and formed a fine partnership with Paul Pogba and kept scoring goals too. Having joined United under José Mourinho, he was sold after Solksjær was signed as a replacement to the Portuguese manager.
He left United and signed for Inter Milan last summer in a big-money move. He became their best player and even though he has a few games left to play in this season, he already has 21 goals and 10 assists for the Nerrazurri, becoming the first player in the division to hit double figures in both goals and assists this season.
Speaking on his title triumph, Lukaku simply said it’s his best year and he hopes this continues from next season.
