Fredy Guarin’s future at Inter Milan has been a major doubt for the last few months. It has worsened since the January transfer window after the player was subjected to transfer interest from Chelsea. However, he decided to stay at Inter Milan until the rest of the season. Now, his agent has stated that manager Walter Mazzarri will decide the future of the player. Inter Milan are expected to retain a number of players from the current campaign, but older players like Diego Milito and Walter Samuel are expected to depart.
Guarin is an industrious player capable of playing on the right or left side of the midfield. He is the type of player Chelsea manager José Mourinho wants in order to adopt a different style of football. However, the possibilities of moving to Chelsea appeared to have reduced significantly in the last few months, as Guarin has been playing little football during this period. Further, 28 years of age, he will have less opportunity to think about getting a move to a big club. Even though he extended his contract during this period, his future still remains in doubt.
Mazzarri will be taking a decision in the next few weeks and he could be allowed to leave on a loan deal at the least.
“Fredy is calm and always gives 100 per cent. He wants to help Inter secure qualification for Europe. The fact the World Cup is approaching is also another reason for him to give his best. We will see what happens in the future. Inter and Walter Mazzarri will be the ones who decide,” said the player’s agent. Inter Milan are looking to finish in the Europa league spot after a disappointing campaign which promised a lot towards the start. It has put the future of manager Mazzarri in doubt as well.
